The LM2840YQMKX/NOPB SIMPLE SWITCHER™ devices are PWM DC/DC buck regulators. With an input range of 4.5V to 42V, the device is suitable for a variety of applications (eg, power regulation from unregulated sources). They feature low RDSON (0.9Ω typ) internal switches for maximum efficiency (85% typ). Additionally, they feature fixed operating frequencies of 550kHz (X option) and 1.25MHz (Y option) to support small external components while maintaining low output voltage ripple. Soft-start can be performed by using the Shutdown (SHDN) pin in combination with an external RC circuit, allowing the user to adjust the soft-start time to the specific application.
