The TPS54040ADGQR device is a 42-V, 0.5-A, step-down regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. Current mode control provides easy external compensation and flexibility in component selection. A low ripple pulse-skipping mode reduces the no-load, regulated input supply current to 116µA. By using the enable pin, the shutdown supply current drops a nominal 1.3µA when it is low.

Undervoltage lockout is internally set to 2.5V, but can be raised using the enable pin. The output voltage start-up ramp is controlled by the slow-start pin, which can also be configured to control power sequencing or tracking. An open-drain power-good signal indicates that the output is within 94% to 107% of its nominal voltage.
