Product Description:
The CC3100MODR11MAMOBR adds Wi-Fi® to a low-cost, low-power MCU for IoT applications. The CC3100MOD is an FCC, IC, CE, and Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ module from the SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi family that greatly simplifies the implementation of Internet connectivity. The CC3100MOD integrates all protocols for Wi-Fi and Internet, greatly reducing the host MCU software requirements. With built-in security protocols, the CC3100MOD solution provides a robust and simple security experience. Additionally, the CC3100MOD is a complete platform solution including tools and software, sample applications, user and programming guides, reference designs, and the TI E2E™ support community. The CC3100MOD is housed in an LGA package for easy placement of all necessary components including serial flash memory, RF filters, crystals and fully integrated passives.
The CC3100MODR11MAMOBR Wi-Fi network processor subsystem features Wi-Fi Internet-on-a chip™ circuitry and includes an additional dedicated Arm MCU to reduce the host MCU. This subsystem includes an 802.11b/g/n radio, baseband, and MAC with a powerful encryption engine with 256-bit encryption for fast, secure Internet connections. The CC3100MOD module supports base station, access point and Wi-Fi Direct modes. This module supports WPA2 Personal and Enterprise security as well as WPS 2.0. This subsystem contains embedded TCP/IP, TLS/SSL stack, HTTP server, and multiple Internet protocols.
The CC3100MODR11MAMOBR power management subsystem includes an integrated DC/DC converter supporting a wide supply voltage range. The subsystem supports low-power modes, such as RTC sleep, which require about 7µA of current. The CC3100MOD module can interface to any 8-bit, 16-bit or 32-bit MCU via SPI or UART interface. The device driver minimizes host memory footprint requirements, requiring less than 7KB of code memory and 700B of RAM for a TCP client application.
