Product Description:

The LM51501QRUMRQ1 is an automatic boost controller with a wide input voltage range. The device can be used to maintain a regulated output voltage from a vehicle battery or backup battery during vehicle cranking.

The LM51501QRUMRQ1 can program the LM51501-Q1 switching frequency from 220kHz to 2.3MHz with a single resistor. Fast switching frequency (≥ 2.2MHz) minimizes AM band interference and enables small solution size and fast transient response.

The LM51501QRUMRQ1 operates in low-IQ standby mode when the input or output voltage is above a preset standby threshold and automatically wakes up when the output voltage drops below a preset wake-up threshold.

LM51501QRUMRQ1 The device enters and exits low-IQ standby mode to extend battery life at light loads. A single resistor programs the target output regulated voltage as well as the configuration. Additional features include low shutdown current, boost status indicator, adjustable cycle-by-cycle current limit and thermal shutdown. When the device is not operating in boost, the status indicator can be used to control the circuit to bypass the diode, thereby reducing power dissipation. In emergency call mode, the device can be used to control the disconnect switch to protect the backup battery.
