The MCIMX6Q6AVT10AD i.MX 6Dual/6Quad automotive and infotainment processors represent the latest achievement in integrated multimedia applications processors. These processors are part of a growing family of multimedia-centric products that offer high-performance processing and a high degree of functional integration. These processors are designed to meet the growing automotive infotainment, telematics, HMI and display-based cluster markets.
The MCIMX6Q6AVT10AD i.MX 6Dual/6Quad processor features an advanced quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A9 core running at speeds up to 1 GHz. They include 2D and 3D graphics processors, 1080p video processing, and integrated power management. Each processor provides a 64-bit DDR3/DDR3L/LPDDR2 memory interface and many other interfaces for connecting peripherals such as WLAN, Bluetooth®, GPS, hard drives, displays and camera sensors.

i.MX 6Dual/6Quad processors provide many advanced features such as:
• Applications Processors – Processors enhance the ability of high-end portable devices to develop applications by meeting the growing MIPS demands of operating systems and games. This Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) reduces power consumption significantly, allowing the device to run at lower voltages and frequencies with enough MIPS for tasks like audio decoding.
• Multilevel memory system – Each processor's multilevel memory system is based on L1 instruction and data caches, L2 cache, and internal and external memory. The processor supports many types of external memory devices, including DDR3, DDR3L, LPDDR2, NOR Flash, PSRAM, Cellular RAM, NAND Flash (MLC and SLC), OneNAND™ and Managed NAND, including eMMC up to version 4.4/4.41.
• Smart Speed Technology - The processor manages power throughout the device, allowing rich multimedia features and peripherals to consume minimal power in both active and various low-power modes. Smart Speed technology enables designers to deliver feature-rich products that require far lower power levels than industry expectations.
• Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling – Processors improve device energy efficiency by adjusting voltage and frequency to optimize performance.
• Multimedia powerhouse – Multimedia performance per processor through a multi-level cache system, Neon® MPE (Media Processor Engine) coprocessor, multi-standard hardware video codecs, 2 autonomous and independent image processing units ( IPU) and a programmable Smart DMA (SDMA) controller.
• Powerful graphics acceleration – each processor offers three independent integrated graphics processing units: OpenGL® ES 2.0 3D graphics accelerator with four shaders (up to 200 MTri/s and OpenCL support), 2D graphics accelerator and a dedicated OpenVG™ 1.1 accelerator.
• Interface flexibility—each processor supports connections to a variety of interfaces: LCD controller for up to four displays (including parallel displays, HDMI1.4, MIPI displays, and LVDS displays), dual CMOS sensor interfaces (parallel or via MIPI), Hi-Speed USB Mobile with PHY, Hi-Speed USB Host with PHY, Multiple Expansion Cards (Speed MMC/SDIO Host and others), 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Controller, and various other popular interfaces such as UART, I2C, I2S serial audio, SATA-II and PCIe-II).
• Advanced Security—Processors provide hardware-enabled security features to ensure secure e-commerce, digital rights management (DRM), message encryption, secure boot, and secure software downloads.
