Product Description

The TPS56C20PWPR is a synchronous DC-DC converter IC (integrated circuit) with voltage regulation control to power a microprocessor (MCU) that requires core voltage (VCORE) regulation. After initial power-up, the output voltage can be programmed/adjusted by the VID code sent on the I2C compatible bus.

TPS56C20PWPR This buck converter uses an adaptive on-time D-CAP2 mode control that provides extremely fast transient response without external components. Unlike conventional voltage/current mode control, D-CAP2 supports seamless transition between PWM mode at higher loads and Eco-mode™ mode at light loads. Eco-mode maintains high efficiency at light loads.

The TPS56C20PWPR supports ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors and low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output capacitors such as polymer tantalum solid electrolytic capacitors (POSCAP) or polymer capacitors (SP-CAP). The device is optimized for small 1.0µH to 2.2µH inductors, saving printed circuit board (PCB) area.
