Product Description:

The DRV8711DCPR device is a stepper motor controller that uses an external N-channel MOSFET to drive a bipolar stepper motor or two brushed DC motors. The device integrates a microstepping indexer capable of supporting step modes from full steps to 1/256 step.

The DRV8711DCPR enables very smooth motion system configurations by using adaptive blanking time and a number of different current decay modes including an automatic hybrid decay mode. Motor stoppage is reported by an optional back electromotive force (EMF) output.

DRV8711DCPR A simple step/direction or pulse width modulation (PWM) interface allows easy connection to controller circuits. An SPI serial interface is used to program device operation. Output current (torque), step mode, decay mode and stall detection functions are all programmable via the SPI serial interface.

The DRV8711DCPR also provides internal shutdown functions for overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and thermal protection. Fault conditions are indicated through the FAULTn pin, and each fault condition is reported by a dedicated bit through the SPI.

The DRV8711DCPR is available in a PowerPAD™ 38-pin Thermally Thin Small Outline (HTSSOP) package with thermal pad (Eco-friendly: RoHS compliant and Pb/Bromine free).
