Product Description:

The TPS92662QPHPRQ1 LED matrix manager device enables fully dynamic adaptive lighting solutions by providing individual pixel-level LED control.

TPS92662QPHPRQ1 This device has 3 series integrated switches with 4 sub-strings each, bypassing individual LEDs. Individual substrings allow the device to accept single or multiple current sources. It also allows up to 4 switches in parallel for bypassing high current LEDs.

The TPS92662QPHPRQ1 uses a host microcontroller to control and manage the TPS92662-Q1 device through a multipoint universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) serial interface. The serial interface supports the use of CAN transceivers for a more reliable and robust physical layer. The I2C communication interface is used to read data from or write data to an external EEPROM that stores system calibration data.

The TPS92662QPHPRQ1 on-board 8-bit ADC with two multiplexed inputs can be used for system temperature compensation and used to measure bin values for LED binning and coding.

The TPS92662QPHPRQ1 internal charge pump rail provides the gate drive voltage for the LED bypass switch. The low resistance (RDS(on)) of the bypass switch minimizes conduction losses and power dissipation.

The phase shift and pulse width of each LED in the TPS92662QPHPRQ1 string are programmable. The device uses internal registers to adjust the PWM frequency. Multiple devices can be synchronized. During PWM dimming operation, the switching transitions have a programmable slew rate to mitigate EMI issues.

TPS92662QPHPRQ1 This device features open-LED protection (threshold programmable). The serial interface will report open LED or short LED faults.
