The ADUM4160BRWZ uses edge-detection-based iCoupler technology combined with internal logic to implement a transparent, easy-to-configure, upstream-facing port isolator. Isolating upstream-facing ports has several advantages for simplicity, power management, and robust operation. The propagation delay of this isolator is comparable to standard hubs and cables. It operates from 4.5 V to 5.5 V on either side with the bus voltage on, allowing the connection to be directly connected to the VBUS level through an internally regulated signal voltage. The ADuM4160 provides pull-up isolation control resistors to allow peripherals to control connection timing. Device idle current is low; therefore suspend mode is not required.
