MPQ5031GRE-0015-AEC1-Z is a USB Type-C 2.0 and USB PD 3.0 compliant USB Power Delivery (PD) controller designed for DFP applications such as charging-only USB PD ports and USB hubs.

The device is backward compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 (QC3.0), Battery Charging Specification (BC1.2), Apple Divider mode, Huawei Fast Charge Protocol (FCP), and dedicated charging port (DCP) schemes such as 1.2V/1.2V mode , without user intervention from the outside. It also supports BC1.2 Charge Data Port (CDP) handshake. The I2C interface and GPIO pins provide good communication between the device and an external power converter.

MPQ5031GRE-0015-AEC1-Z supports PD power supply up to 100W and supports Programmable Power Supply (PPS). It flexibly configures the Power Delivery Data Object (PDO) list, selects slave devices, configures charging protocols, and sets protection modes.

The device provides two NTC pins for monitoring abnormal temperature rise, such as monitoring the temperature on a USB Type-C socket or on a PCB. The power sharing feature enables intelligent power budget management between the two USB PD ports; when the car battery voltage is low, the PDO capacity is reduced. High voltage I/O pins are used to support short-to-battery protection and short-to-VBUS protection for DC/DC converters.
