According to reports, the Wi-Fi 7 cross-vendor demonstration speed exceeded 5Gbps, based on a Core laptop + Broadcom Wi-Fi 7 access point.

"Today's milestone sends a clear message: the ecosystem is ready, and Wi-Fi 7 is here to bring extraordinary capacity and incredible speeds to further expand gigabit broadband," said Broadcom's vice president of wireless connectivity.

Intel says Wi-Fi 7 can bring higher speeds, lower latency, higher reliability and greater capacity, including the use of 320MHz channel bandwidth (double the speed) in the unlicensed 6GHz spectrum , 4K QAM quadrature amplitude modulation (up to 20% faster), multi-link operation MLO (improved throughput, link robustness, roaming, interference mitigation, and reduced latency), and improved through multiple resource unit (MRU) and puncturing channel utilization.

The report reminds that the Wi-Fi 7 standard has not yet been finalized, and its product solution is only a semi-finished solution based on the functions defined in the IEEE P802.11be draft amendment. It is said that Intel plans to launch Wi-Fi 7 certified products according to the Wi-Fi Alliance certification schedule (2023-2024 time frame).
