Product Description:

The DRV8251ADDAR device is an integrated motor driver with an N-channel H-bridge, charge pump, current sense feedback, current regulation, and protection circuits. The charge pump improves efficiency by supporting N-channel MOSFET half-bridge and 100% duty cycle drive.

The internal current mirror architecture on the DRV8251ADDAR IPROPI pin implements current sensing and regulation. This eliminates the need for large power shunt resistors, saving board area and reducing system cost. With the IPROPI current sense output, the microcontroller can detect motor stall or changing load conditions. An external voltage reference pin, VREF, can determine the threshold for current regulation during start-up and stall events without microcontroller interaction.

The DRV8251ADDAR low-power sleep mode achieves ultra-low quiescent current consumption by shutting down most of the internal circuitry. Internal protection features include supply undervoltage lockout, output overcurrent and device overtemperature.
