CC3220MODASF12MONR Start your design with this fully programmable wireless microcontroller (MCU) module that is FCC, IC, CE, MIC, and SRRC certified and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The SimpleLink™ CC3220MODx and CC3220MODAx family of modules from Texas Instruments™ are designed for the Internet of Things and are wireless modules integrating two physically isolated on-chip MCUs.

• Applications Processor Arm® Cortex®-M4 MCU with 256KB of user-dedicated RAM (1MB XIP Flash on CC3220SF model).

• A network processor MCU that runs all Wi-Fi® and Internet logic layers. This ROM-based subsystem includes an 802.11b/g/n radio, baseband, and MAC with a powerful encryption engine featuring 256-bit encryption for fast and secure Internet connections. The CC3220MODASF12MONR wireless MCU family is part of TI's second generation Internet-on-a chip™ family of solutions. The CC3220MODx and CC3220MODAx wireless MCU families support the following modes: Base Station, AP, and Wi-Fi Direct®. The CC3220MODx and CC3220MODAx modules also support WPA2 and WPA3 Personal and Enterprise security. This subsystem contains embedded TCP/IP and TLS/SSL stacks, HTTP server and multiple Internet protocols. The module supports multiple Wi-Fi configuration methods, including HTTP over AP mode, SmartConfig™ technology, and WPS2.0. The power management subsystem includes an integrated DC/DC converter that supports a wide supply voltage range. The subsystem supports low-power modes such as low-power deep-sleep, RTC hibernate (consumes only 5 µA), and shutdown mode (consumes only 1 µA) to help extend battery life.

The module contains peripherals such as fast parallel camera interface, I2S, SD, UART, SPI, I2C and 4-channel ADC. The SimpleLink CC3220MODx and CC3220MODAx module families have 4 different module models: CC3220MODS,

CC3220MODSF, CC3220MODA, and CC3220MODASF.

• The CC3220MODS and CC3220MODAS modules contain application-specific embedded RAM (256KB) for code and data processing. Additionally, the CC3220MODAS includes an integrated antenna.

• The CC3220MODSF and CC3220MODASF modules contain application-specific serial Flash (1MB) and RAM (256KB) for code and data. Additionally, the CC3220MODASF includes an integrated antenna.

These 4 modules integrate 40MHz crystal, 32.768kHz RTC clock, 32Mb SPI serial flash, RF filter and passive components. These modules also have other security features such as encrypted and authenticated file system, user IP encryption and authentication, secure boot (authentication and integrity verification of the application image while flash booting), and more.

The CC3220MODx and CC3220MODAx devices are part of the SimpleLink™ MCU platform, which includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® Low Energy, Sub-1 GHz, and host MCUs. They all share a common, easy-to-use development environment with a single-core software development kit (SDK) and rich toolset. After one-time integration of the SimpleLink platform, users can add any combination of devices from the portfolio to your design. The ultimate goal of the SimpleLink platform is to ensure full code reuse as design requirements change.
