Product Description:
The BQ79652PAPRQ1 family of devices provides high-accuracy battery voltage measurements of 6S to 12S (BQ79652-Q1), 14S (BQ79654-Q1), or 16S (BQ79656-Q1) battery modules in less than 200µs, while supporting shunt resistors tor current sense measurement. With the integrated front-end filter, the system can be implemented using a simple, low voltage rated differential RC filter on the battery input channel. An integrated post-ADC low-pass filter enables filtered, DC-like voltage measurements. The devices also support integrated current sensing, optionally synchronized with battery voltage measurement for better state-of-charge (SOC) calculation. The device supports autonomous internal cell balancing and automatically suspends and resumes balancing by monitoring temperature to avoid overheating conditions.
The isolated bidirectional daisy-chain port included in the BQ79652PAPRQ1 supports isolation via capacitors and transformers and allows the use of the most efficient components for centralized or distributed architectures commonly found in xEV powertrain systems. The device also contains eight GPIOs or auxiliary inputs to perform external thermistor measurements.
The host communication of the BQ79652PAPRQ1 series device can be connected through the device's dedicated UART interface or the communication bridge device BQ79600. Additionally, an isolated differential daisy-chain communication interface allows the host to communicate with the entire battery pack through a single interface. In the event of a communication line interruption, the daisy-chain communication interface can be configured as a ring architecture, allowing the host to communicate with devices at both ends of the stack.
