Product Description:
The TPS61240TDRVRQ1 device is a high-efficiency synchronous step-up DC/DC converter optimized for products powered by three-cell Alkaline/NiCd/NiMH or single-cell Li-Ion/Li-Polymer batteries. The TPS61240-Q1 supports up to 450mA output current. The TPS61240-Q1 has an input valley current limit of 500mA.
The TPS61240TDRVRQ1 device provides a fixed output voltage of 5 V (typ) over an input voltage range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V and supports batteries with a wider voltage range. During shutdown, the load is completely disconnected from the battery. The TPS61240-Q1 boost converter is based on a quasi-constant on-time valley current-mode control scheme.
The TPS61240TDRVRQ1 presents high impedance at the output voltage pin. Therefore, the device is suitable for applications that require a regulated output bus driven by another power supply when the TPS61240-Q1 is powered off.
During light loads of the TPS61240TDRVRQ1, the device will automatically pulse skip to achieve the highest efficiency with the lowest quiescent current. In shutdown mode, current consumption is reduced to less than 1µA.
The TPS61240TDRVRQ1 allows the use of small inductors and capacitors, thus enabling a small solution size. The TPS61240-Q1 is packaged in a 2mm × 2mm WSON package.
