The TPA3116D2DADR series are high-efficiency stereo digital amplifier power stages for driving speakers up to 100W/2Ω in mono mode. The TPA3116D2DADR is very efficient, delivering 2 × 15W on a single-layer PCB without the need for an external heat sink. The TPA3118D2 can even deliver 2 × 30W/8Ω on a double-layer PCB without the use of an external heat sink. If higher power is required, the TPA3116D2DADR can be selected, which provides 2 × 50W/4Ω with a small heat sink attached to its top PowerPAD. All three devices are the same size, which allows the use of a single PCB to meet the needs of different power stages.

The TPA3116D2DADR Advanced Oscillator/PLL circuit incorporates a multiple switching frequency option to suppress AM interference; when used with the Master-Slave option, it also enables synchronization of multiple devices.

The TPA3116D2DADR device features short-circuit and thermal protection as well as overvoltage, undervoltage, and DC protection for complete protection against failure. In an overload condition, the device can feed back fault conditions to the processor, thus protecting itself from damage.
