Product Description:

The DRV8860PWPR is an 8-channel low-side driver with overcurrent protection and open/short load detection. It has built-in diodes to clamp off transients generated by inductive loads and can be used to drive unipolar stepper motors, DC motors, relays, solenoids, or other loads.

The DRV8860PWPR can provide up to 330mA (8 channels on) continuous output current and the DRV8860PW can provide up to 200mA (8 channels on) continuous output current. This current drive capability increases as the PWM duty cycle decreases. A single channel can drive up to 560mA of continuous output current when turned on. Please refer to

The DRV8860PWPR provides a serial port to control the DRV8860 output drivers, configure the internal setup registers, and read the fault status of each channel. Multiple DRV8860 devices can be daisy-chained together to share a single serial port. The power-up time and holdover PWM duty cycle can also be configured through the serial port. These features enable lower operating temperatures than traditional always-on solutions.

Internal shutdown functions for overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and thermal protection are also provided. The DRV8860 is capable of diagnosing open load conditions. The fault information for each channel can be read by the serial port and is indicated by an external fault pin.
