TPS7B4253QDDARQ1 For automotive off-board sensors and low-current off-board modules, the power supply is connected to the motherboard through a long cable. In such cases, the power device needs to provide protection for off-board loads, preventing damage to on-board components during a short to ground or a short to battery caused by a broken cable. Off-board sensors require the same power supply as on-board components to ensure high accuracy in data acquisition.

The TPS7B4253-Q1 device is designed for automotive applications with 45V load dump issues. The device can be used as a tracking low-dropout (LDO) regulator or voltage tracker to create a closed power loop for off-board sensors from the on-board mains supply. The output of the device is precisely regulated by the reference voltage at the ADJ pin.

To provide accurate power to off-board modules, the device has an ultra-low tracking tolerance of 4mV over the operating temperature range between the ADJ and FB pins. The PMOS back-to-back topology eliminates the need for external diodes for reverse polarity conditions. The TPS7B4253-Q1 device also includes thermal shutdown, inductive clamp, overload, and short-to-battery protection to prevent damage to onboard components under extreme conditions.
